Zoning By-Law and Schedules
The Township of South Glengarry’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law and Schedules (see below) control land use within our community. It states exactly:
- How land may be used
- Where buildings and other structures can be located
- The type of uses that are permitted and how they may be used
- The lot sizes and dimensions, parking requirements, building heights, and setbacks from the street/road, watercourses or property lines.
This is important to protect our natural resources and to maintain our residents’ quality of life.
Our Zoning By-law is updated or amended as needed and policies governing land use change. Please contact our Community Planner to see if your property is subject to an earlier Zoning By-law amendment.
