Zoning By-Law and Schedules

The Township of South Glengarry’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law and Schedules (see below) control land use within our community. It states exactly:

How land may be used
Where buildings and other structures can be located
The type of uses that are permitted and how they may be used
The lot sizes and dimensions, parking requirements, building heights, and setbacks from the street/road, watercourses or property lines.

This is important to protect our natural resources and to maintain our residents’ quality of life.

Our Zoning By-law is updated or amended as needed and policies governing land use change. Please contact our Community Planner to see if your property is subject to an earlier Zoning By-law amendment.
