Festivals and Events

The Township of South Glengarry is well known for its numerous festivals and events. These festivals and events are so numerous that it is impossible to list them all! Visit our Community Calendar for a complete list of events.

Below is information on some of the annual events that take place throughout the Township.

Annual Lancaster & Bainsville Yard Sales

These yard sales are community-organized events that are typically held on the third Saturday of July each year. Table setups start early in the morning until about 2:00 pm. That little something you no longer need may be that little something that someone else is looking for!

Raisin River Canoe Race

The Raisin River Canoe Race is one of the longest canoe races in Eastern Ontario! First started in 1973, the 30km course runs from St. Andrews to Williamstown. The race is always held during the spring freshet when water levels are high and flows are favourable for paddlers. The event is organized by the Raisin Region Conservation Authority.

Williamstown Fair

The Williamstown Fair has been serving the community of South Glengarry since 1812 and is known as “Canada's Oldest Annual Fair”. This heritage and agricultural fair includes exhibits, programs, competitions and entertainment representing the rural agricultural way of life. Check out their website for more information
