Community Improvement Plan Grants

South Glengarry’s Community Improvement Plan

A Community Improvement Plan (CIP) is used to enhance our buildings and communities through private sector development, creating community pride, attracting visitors, business investments, and economic development opportunities. This program is open to residents and businesses.

South Glengarry’s CIP was created with community input and describes available grants for projects in our main street areas that:

  • Stimulate business development.

  • Revitalize and beautify the villages and waterfront.

  • Encourage consistency in facades.

  • Promote infill, intensification, and adaptive reuse.

  • Provide for a range of housing types.

  • Enhance the quality of life in South Glengarry

The CIP program accepts applications year-round. Contact our Economic Development Officer to discuss your project.

Regional Incentives Program (RIP)

SDG Counties administers the RIP (similar to CIP) to encourage investment in the tourism and agriculture sector, encourage redevelopment and private sector investment in existing building stock, and increase tourism accommodations in the region. Successful applicants can receive up to $50,000. This program is open to businesses only. There is one intake period each year, typically in January-February.

Contact our Economic Development Officer at the coordinates below to discuss your eligibility for these grants.
